Panoramic Views of Andersen Gallery

Here are two panoramic views of the second part of our exhibition, located in the Andersen Gallery on the first floor of the Elmer L. Andersen Library.

The library is located on the West Bank Campus of the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Parking and other building information may be found here.

The gallery is open Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and on Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Project Description

Libraries, archives, museums, historical societies, other cultural heritage institutions, and private collectors are invited to participate in a state-wide exhibition of global treasures from Minnesota’s book and manuscript collections. The exhibits--coordinated by staff from the Minnesota Historical Society, University of Minnesota, and Upper Midwest book dealers--will focus on the “best” rare and unique books and manuscripts drawn from Minnesota institutions and individuals. These exhibits would be displayed during the summer of 2018.

Support and promotion for these unique collaborative exhibitions will be sought from the Minnesota State Tourism Board, the Minnesota Library Association, state library multi-type systems, institutions of higher education, local visitors bureaus, and other similar organizations. Local booksellers will be encouraged to promote the exhibition and to offer/display current editions of some of the rare materials featured as part of the project.
